"markdown": "Every network has a season when the scaffolding comes down and you can finally see the shape of the thing being built. The atmosphere is in one of those seasons. Whether it's Eurosky shipping project after project or standard.site setting the timeline on fire, you can feel the tone change.\n\nUnderneath the surge is a deeper shift still landing: **private, permissioned data**. For most of its life atproto has been public-by-default — everything in the open, legible to anyone with a firehose. The work chronicled in Daniel Holmgren's Permissioned Data diaries, echoed in Habitat's permission spaces and sol's device-bound journals, is about to change that. When data can be private *and* still portable, whole categories of application that couldn't exist on a public network suddenly can. That's the kind of unlock that doesn't just add features — it rearranges what the ecosystem is *for*.\n\nThis first issue of *Dispatches* is a snapshot of that hinge. Some of these pieces are infrastructure; some are love letters; some are warnings about what the old web quietly took from us. Read together, they map an ecosystem that has stopped asking whether it will work and started asking what we should build now that it does."
