## Definitions

### `software.release.version`

**Type**: `record`

An immutable named pointer to a manifest. The record key is '{projectName}:{version}', making uniqueness per (project, version) mechanical and enabling AppView-free resolution. Version strings follow the project-name grammar (lowercase alphanumerics, interior hyphens) but allow dots. The version string cannot contain colons, but the rkey must contain exactly one colon. Valid only when same-DID with the referenced project, and only when target references a manifest of that same project.

**Key**: `any`

| Property | Type | Required | Description |
|----------|------|----------|-------------|
| `changelog` | `string` (uri) | No | Canonical site.standard.document or website changelog linked at version creation. The document may be published by a different DID. This URI does not pin the document's contents. |
| `manifest` | `ref` → `com.atproto.repo.strongRef#main` | Yes | Strong reference to the software.release.manifest this version stamps. MUST belong to the same project. |
| `project` | `string` (at-uri) | Yes | The software.release.project this pointer belongs to. Must be same-DID. |
| `version` | `string` | Yes | Version string (e.g. v1.0.0, 2026.10.13). Follows the project-name grammar, minus colons. MUST match the record rkey after the colon. |
