## Description

A recording published to be found and used: a one-shot, a loop or a longer take, with what is known of its time and pitch. A recording used only inside an arrangement is a blob of that arrangement and needs no record; this is for sharing one.

## Definitions

### `at.atmosynth.sample`

**Type**: `record`

A sample, held in its creator's own repository.

**Key**: `tid`

| Property | Type | Required | Description |
|----------|------|----------|-------------|
| `audio` | `blob` | Yes | The recording, in this record's own account. |
| `beats` | `integer` | No | How many beats a loop lasts, where `tempo` alone would leave it to rounding. Optional. |
| `createdAt` | `string` (datetime) | Yes | |
| `description` | `string` | No | |
| `key` | `ref` → `at.atmosynth.defs#key` | No | The key a melodic loop or take is in. Optional. |
| `kind` | `string` | No | `oneShot`: a single hit or note, played from a key. `loop`: a whole number of beats meant to repeat. `recording`: a longer take. Optional: absent says nothing of how it is meant to be used. |
| `license` | `ref` → `at.atmosynth.defs#license` | No | |
| `lineage` | `array` | No | |
| `name` | `string` | Yes | What its creator calls it. |
| `rootNote` | `integer` | No | The note a one-shot was recorded at, as a MIDI note number, so a key plays it at its own pitch. Optional. |
| `seconds` | `string` | No | How long it lasts, in seconds, as decimal text, so a listing can say so without fetching it. |
| `tags` | `array` | No | Freely created tags, lower-cased on write. |
| `tempo` | `string` | No | The tempo it was played at, in beats per minute from 20 to 999, as decimal text, from which a clip can be warped to an arrangement's. Optional: absent where it has none. |
